This section offers insight into my background so you can get to know me better.
Not so long ago I was browsing the internet to see what would help me be a happier, less worried person. After extensive research, I felt discouraged, helpless, and stressed. I was not sure what to do with my life or how to give myself a meaningful purpose.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a doctor and helping people. And while this did not happen, I found another way to help. Initially, I became a registered nurse (this is as close as I came to being a medical doctor) and have spent over a decade helping individuals with their medical needs.
I still felt a little empty though. It wasn’t enough. I wanted to find a way to be more efficient with the help that I provided to others.
This was the birth of my journey to becoming a therapist.
I decided to become a therapist to help others with their emotional needs. In my time as a nurse, I noticed that medical illnesses are not necessarily the underlying problem for all ailments. While we can treat infections, diseases, and broken bones, our emotions require more introspection. It was then I realized that self-care and emotional balance can work to heal us from the inside out.
During my graduate studies for therapy, I faced many challenges, both physical and emotional. I suffered many losses, physical ailments, and experienced emotional and physical burnout. While it was tough, I did not give up. I felt these experiences were helping me to become a better therapist.
I believe that my personal and professional journey has enabled me to provide the kind of support that people often struggle to find. That’s why I decided to make my mission to help others find the relief they seek.
This journey was my lesson. It has allowed me to lead a more meaningful life and was the most inspiring chapter in my life thus far.
My mission is to help others by offering my knowledge about psychotherapy, mindfulness, and counseling so that you may lead the best life possible.
